These last two weeks have been full of good food and visitors. Although I´m still waiting to get paid and consequently I could have eaten the case officer alive, I´ve done my best to be a good host and enjoy the company of friends and family. First my cousin came from Romania with a couple of her friends and stayed for a night and then went on an adventure in the Southern and Western Norway, climbing mountains and getting engaged (the friends, not the cousin). 😉

Banana cake
It´s my first time making it and I love it! Aside from the fact that it´s super easy to put together, it tastes fantastic and I can have it for breakfast with coffee, since I never bother to eat a proper meal that early in the morning anyways. And I can take it with me to my assignments, too. On Saturday some friends are coming over from London and so I´m set for the visit, too. 😉 Haha! I´m such a practical person! Do give it a try!
Fall
Summer is over and with it, my traveling adventures, too. Hoping there might be a bit of roaming at work, not too much, though, just enough to steady my wanderlust. Meanwhile, I´m still waiting to get paid, 7 weeks overdue, yes, but hey, the court house clerks receive a pay check every month, so what do they care about freelancers?

I’m opening an Airbnb
I´ve been talking about it for ages, postponing all the time due to lack of time, inconsistency as well as a generally over furnished apartment and life. But now it´s happening! I need to order a bed, some curtains and a small coffee table, give the room a fresh coat of paint and tidy up a bit and I´m there! In a couple of weeks’ time I hope to be on the site.
I haven´t taken any pictures of my home recently, but if you´ve read my blog you´ll know I like mid-century design with a splash of colour. I promise fresh smelling bed sheets, flowers on the bedside table, lots of coffee and a giant pancake breakfast-although I´ve never been a morning person- haha!
Meanwhile I´m getting some inspiration here and there.

Saying good-bye
Saying good-bye to Beo today is heart-breaking. I´ve had him for 12, 5 years and he´s been my anchor and the best companion. I´ve had to do lots of laundry on account of his mishaps, throw out three couches and pick up after him more times than I care to remember, but I wouldn´t have traded him for the world! He´s got more personality than many people I know and is always ready to cuddle, even if that means he has to scratch the door to pieces in pursuing that. He´s meowed at 3 am to be fed and pooped in bed when I brought the bf home for the first time, he´s peed in my new ballerinas and thrown up on my lingerie, but I love him to bits none the less. You can never be replaced, but knowing me, I´ll try, because being without a cat is like lacking a part of my soul.

Classic apple chutney
What to do with so many apples? 😉 I was growing tired of making apple jam, so I remembered the lovely apple chutney I made some years ago. 😉 I hope you feel like trying!

Sunday Blues
How are you? Back from holidays and starting work again (like me)? I hope you´re rested and ready for a new start and that you don´t hate your job and feel like crying, the way I used to back when I was working at the bank.

Fall in August
It´s freezing cold, it´s been raining for 4 days now, it stops for a couple of hours and then it starts pouring all over again. I hate rain so much I wouldn´t even get out of the house if I didn´t need to work and walk Sammy. And being as weather sick as I am, you can only imagine what an amazing company I must be! 😉
Yesterday I was in Ålesund, a pretty town on the Western coast of Norway, and not only was it raining, but the temperature was as low as 11 degrees. Brr! I´d put on more clothes than necessary in Oslo, but somehow it wasn´t enough, not when you´re walking around in wet ballerinas. Luckily it was only for work and only for a few hours, but by the time I got back it was raining cats and dogs at home, too. Arghhh!
A Sunday Well-Spent
Yesterday I was in a strange mood, it was as if my whole body was mourning the carefree summer days and getting ready for a new phase- call it autumn, call it work, or just routine. Whatever you choose to name it, I felt a big sense of loss and very little pleasure in anticipating what would come. To cheer myself up and because I had invited friends over for coffee, I decided to make some ciabatta to go with my wonderful home made apple jam. And it was so easy and delicious I thought I should share it with you! 😉

Montpellier
I’m back from France and ready to start a new semester of work and play. Ok, more work than play, but still. Turning 36 in a month´s time and since I´ve been obsessing about getting older for a while now, I made up my mind that as long as there´s enough champagne, I will survive! 😉
