A Sunday Well-Spent
Yesterday I was in a strange mood, it was as if my whole body was mourning the carefree summer days and getting ready for a new phase- call it autumn, call it work, or just routine. Whatever you choose to name it, I felt a big sense of loss and very little pleasure in anticipating what would come. To cheer myself up and because I had invited friends over for coffee, I decided to make some ciabatta to go with my wonderful home made apple jam. Apple jam
Fall is here, I watch it from my window, sneaking in, every day more present than the day before. I bought some new socks to match my outfits, I´m taking my shoes to the shoemaker for new soles, looking for a good sweater and for rubber boots, too. On sunny days I´m picking branches of white berries to decorate the house and apples from the neighbourhood trees to make jam out of.
Organic weekend
After depriving my body of nutrients as well as good flavours, I felt it was about time I should do something about that. So I managed to use the first window of opportunity to check out the organic marked in Stortorvet. I started doing that last year, enticed by the colours, smells and the jovial chatter the ´farmers´met one with. 2 kg apples, 1 bag of golden chanterelles and 3 corn cobs later, I was heading home with the promises of a real feast.
