Garden Life

I haven’t blogged in a long time and I realized I’ve kind of missed it! The thing is I’m trying to write “real stuff”- short stories or even a novel and the process is exhausting, I’m telling you! Besides, it leaves me with a feeling that blogging is just amateur writing that no one reads anyways. But then a couple of friends told me they were looking forward to my new entries and so I decided to let you know how things are on this side of the world. 😉

Slow Life

How are you? I’ve been taking it slowly lately, work’s been scarce and I’ve not been feeling great, either, but the weather’s been splendid and I’ve had my partner in crime, Sam, to keep me company. So we went to the woods, bathed in a pond and a river (him, not me), picked some lilies of the valley and felt free and truly blessed to have each other. I’ve always preferred pets to people and as a 10 year old, I used to climb over the garage, where I had a “secret laboratory”, and  “cultivate” moss and mushrooms with my huge, lazy, orange, tiger cat.

I’m opening an Airbnb

I´ve been talking about it for ages, postponing all the time due to lack of time, inconsistency as well as a generally over furnished apartment and life. But now it´s happening! I need to order a bed, some curtains and a small coffee table, give the room a fresh coat of paint and tidy up a bit and I´m there! In a couple of weeks’ time I hope to be on the site.

I haven´t taken any pictures of my home recently, but if you´ve read my blog you´ll know I like mid-century design with a splash of colour. I promise fresh smelling bed sheets, flowers on the bedside table, lots of coffee and a giant pancake breakfast-although I´ve never been a morning person- haha!

Meanwhile I´m getting some inspiration here and there.

May is here already, time sure flies fast, next Tuesday I´ll be going home for a whole week! Yippee! Meanwhile I´ve been doing some work related traveling, attended a couple of parties, congratulated a friend of mine with her newborn baby and went to see her, walked Sammy in the woods and now I´m thinking of starting on a diet or joining the gym. I hate both of them, but the gym appeals to me even less than food restrictions!:-( Continue reading

Lately

How y’all doing ? These days I´m still a bit up and down and I tend to find people tiresome. And since I meet lots of them in my line of work, some days I´m simply beat without doing much at all. 😉 I don´t even know if it´s anxiety or good old contempt. My therapist planted this idea- what if your contempt for people is rooted in contempt for yourself? Too deep on a Friday evening, though. 😉 haha!

As long as I have my bear and my special someone though, all´s good in the world. We´ve had a bit of sun lately (although it´s still awfully cold!) and so I´ve been exploring the neighbouring woods with Sammy boy. 😉13078258_10153549181381711_225484625_o Continue reading

Wishing for summer

Now that spring is here (at last!), I find myself dreaming of summer more and more. In fact, it´s just a couple of months away! Summer for me will always be bare toes, white houses by the sea, lazy mornings in bed, garden parties, cocktails, flowers and beach babes. What´s your idea of a perfect summer? This is mine!

August

August has been awesome so far! The weather is pretty on and off and makes me long for Greek beaches and cloudless skies, but our social life has been amazing. My brother is visiting with his wife, yesterday was V´s birthday and the rest of the crew is back from holidays. Later on this month a friend is coming over with her boyfriend for a short holiday and at the end of the month- my mom and auntie will be visiting us, too.

1st of May

Yesterday we had a day off and had planned in advance to meet with our friends Kristin and Jack and their kids for a stroll in the Ekeberg Sculpture Park. I invited them over to our apartment first and served them freshly baked ham and cheese horns, coffee and juice. After playing with Sam and Beo, the kids were excited to go outside and walk for a bit. The park is just 15 minutes away from our place, but it´s like entering a whole different world nevertheless. An enchanted one. IMG_2884 Continue reading

Delicate jewelry

I fell for the frail jewelry from HapaGirls on Etsy. I don´t own anything from them, yet, but I think their naive motifs are so beautiful that it´s just a matter of time. 😉 Especially now, that spring is slowly taking over, I find myself more prone to wear jewelry and I also feel more like going out. Hope you also find some seasonal inspiration here. 😉 Continue reading
