What to do with so many apples? 😉 I was growing tired of making apple jam, so I remembered the lovely apple chutney I made some years ago. 😉 I hope you feel like trying! Continue reading

A Sunday Well-Spent
Yesterday I was in a strange mood, it was as if my whole body was mourning the carefree summer days and getting ready for a new phase- call it autumn, call it work, or just routine. Whatever you choose to name it, I felt a big sense of loss and very little pleasure in anticipating what would come. To cheer myself up and because I had invited friends over for coffee, I decided to make some ciabatta to go with my wonderful home made apple jam. Walnuts and donuts
This weekend we had fabulous weather and so we took Sammy to the woods both days. The forrest is so pretty in its autumn attire, it looks like a queen all dolled-up for a party. Lots of pictures on my Romanian blog, if you want to take a look!

Apple jam
Fall is here, I watch it from my window, sneaking in, every day more present than the day before. I bought some new socks to match my outfits, I´m taking my shoes to the shoemaker for new soles, looking for a good sweater and for rubber boots, too. On sunny days I´m picking branches of white berries to decorate the house and apples from the neighbourhood trees to make jam out of.
Apple muffins
One of my New Year´s resolutions was to eat healthier. More fresh fruit and vegetables, more organic products, what better way to do it than order them right to your door through Kolonihagen? Last week was their first delivery and we got lots of goodies, including 7 yellow apples. Since neither of us is so fond of apples, let alone yellow, I had to find a way to use them. And voilà, apple muffins it is!
