Yesterday my friend Cristina came over for some girl talk, Prosecco and pumpkin soup. We sat on the couch for ages, although the sun was up and outside it was Indian summer. We were just too lazy and couldn´t be bothered. So when I suggested an evening walk, V and Sam joined us to Sørenga and back. It was such a pretty evening- the sun was just setting, the air was still warm and people had started leaving, abandoning the beach in a magic mist of purple.

Pssst, Kisua!
I discovered this gem the other day and just had to share it with you! 😉 I love supporting artisan handcraft and this is the perfect opportunity- an online store solely with African products! KISUA means “well-dressed person” is Swahili and intends to promote the finest designers of the African continent for an international buyers´ market.

Dark chocolate cake with raspberries
I might have blogged about it before, but it´s worth repeating since we´re talking of my all time favourite cake! 😉 It´s a dark, melting-on-your-tongue type of cake that works wonders after dinner and keeps well in the fridge for a week or so.
Weekend treat
How have you been and what´s your weekend been like? 😉 We had amazing weather and spent our Saturday mostly outside with a glass of Prosecco in our hand, barbecuing, picking raspberries and having fun. The day started by giving Sam a much needed bath, ´cause he´s been dipping in all the ponds and bays and stank like a dog pound. I then took him for a long walk in the sun to dry and we ended up in Kaffebrenneriet in Grønland, in a former fire department quarters, where they have a pretty garden and amazing coffee to savour.

Another week has gone by
Long time, no see. I was busy with my guests, who left on Wednesday afternoon, then worked long hours on Thursday and then summer came back to Norway, so I had to make sure I enjoyed it properly! 😉 Actually summer came back on Wednesday, so we´ve been frantic about staying outside in the sun, drinking ice coffee and white wine, going to the beach and so on.
August
August has been awesome so far! The weather is pretty on and off and makes me long for Greek beaches and cloudless skies, but our social life has been amazing. My brother is visiting with his wife, yesterday was V´s birthday and the rest of the crew is back from holidays. Later on this month a friend is coming over with her boyfriend for a short holiday and at the end of the month- my mom and auntie will be visiting us, too.
Sunny day
A couple of days ago we had great weather and we enjoyed the afternoon by the beach. We couldn’t be bothered to take a boat and spend the entire day on an island, so Sørenga, a 15 minutes walk from home, sounded most appealing. With an ice-coffee in our hand and Sam in the lead, the world was a pretty awesome place to be.

Baked Salmon à la Vietnamienne
Saturday we had guests and V was the chef. I got away with “cleaning the house” (which was more like tidying up, really), as well as making my now famous vanilla ice-cream. 😉 We were 7 and the fish was devoured in no time. In the mean time, Sam was the main attraction and he got so much love that it´ll hopefully last him for the entire week. 😉

Mykonos
No, I´m not in Mykonos right now, although I wish I were. It´s my number one destination for the time being. 😉 I want to lounge on a sun bed, say good-bye to bills and stress and just be. Eat Greek salad and drink some fizzy white wine while reading a good book or improving my instagram account. 😉
I´ve always known it was a very beautiful island, but the party vibe kind of scared me off. But now I´m ready to kick back and just not care if there´s a party somewhere, as long as I get my fair share of peace of mind. 😉
Lunch at Vino Veritas
Yesterday I had lunch with a dear friend at Vino Veritas and I liked the place so much I decided to move Vuong´s birthday party there! 😉 It´s a local tapas restaurant, just 5 minutes from our home, they have lots of space and a lovely terrace, so we can bring Sam and invite friends with kids, too! 😉 Yey! And then we can go home for cake, if people feel like it. So I can´t wait! 😉
