How are you? I’ve been taking it slowly lately, work’s been scarce and I’ve not been feeling great, either, but the weather’s been splendid and I’ve had my partner in crime, Sam, to keep me company. So we went to the woods, bathed in a pond and a river (him, not me), picked some lilies of the valley and felt free and truly blessed to have each other. I’ve always preferred pets to people and as a 10 year old, I used to climb over the garage, where I had a “secret laboratory”, and “cultivate” moss and mushrooms with my huge, lazy, orange, tiger cat.

Mornings like these
Mornings like these, when you wake up rested and wonder what time it is, then lie awake in bed and find the pain is gone. I knew it would happen some day, the way love passes, so does hurt, but the realisation is consuming nevertheless, I can live again without guilt or remorse, I can open the windows and breathe in the fresh air without almost feeling it´s a sin to be alive. March
March came with promises of sunny weather, snow drops and tender feelings. I embrace it as hard as I can, I let it lead the way, stumbling down a couple of times, two steps forward and one step back, then all the way, head first. I feels like falling, but in a good way, probably like parachuting- free fall and yet you know there´s someone there to catch you.;-)
A candle-lit get-together
Yesterday we invited some friends over for a cosy dinner, to laugh away a dark November Sunday. I made boeuf bourguignon and served it with with red wine, French baguette and butter, in my grandma´s china. Now that´s big for me, since I normally can´t even remember to buy napkins, so everybody´s used to gifting me that every once in a while, or else I present them for a big fat roll of toilet paper. 😉 So there was a festive atmosphere, candle light, “magic bubble water” (we finally got ourselves one of these bubbly water machines), wine and beef stew. Throw in a couple of loud friends, a lovable crew the lot of them, Sam at our feet and Beo stealing our seat as soon as it was left unattended for 5 seconds, and you´ve got the perfect recipe for a long night with lots of fun!
Apple muffins and kids
How are you doing? These days I´m trying to stay away from sweets and gluten and instead I end up baking lots and eating it, too. Last night I had two lovely ladies over for gossip and some tea and the little lady practically rearranged the house, she was so thrilled about all the stuff we have! 😉 haha! So we made apple muffins while Isabella was carrying around with Sam and Beo and the decoration stick she found, my dried hydrangeas (sigh!) and all the small vases “lying around” in the hall. 😉
Saturday thoughts
This week has been a good one, both professionally and weather-wise. Sommer returned for a couple of days and brought a smile upon everybody´s face and a strong desire to live. We went to the Botanical Garden, had lunch and coffee breaks outdoors and a picnic in the park. Unfortunately V was stuck by a needle, so we ended up at the Emergency Room yesterday evening, to take a blood test. I tried to comfort him while he had a rant about drug addicts and how they ruin a perfectly good park where lots of children play all the time. The rest is not suitable for a public blog. We were advised not to dramatise the situation, since only an infinitesimal amount of people end up being infected. But it´s a horrible situation to be in none the less. Continue reading
Lunch at Vino Veritas
Yesterday I had lunch with a dear friend at Vino Veritas and I liked the place so much I decided to move Vuong´s birthday party there! 😉 It´s a local tapas restaurant, just 5 minutes from our home, they have lots of space and a lovely terrace, so we can bring Sam and invite friends with kids, too! 😉 Yey! And then we can go home for cake, if people feel like it. So I can´t wait! 😉
Cute Dog ‘Q’ Sitting On Things
Tomas Werner photographed this cute little dog outdoors, using the incredibly photogenic Miami as a backdrop. The dog is willingly posing as a real model. Werner gathered his pictures in a book called “A Handbook Dog Walkers”. Take a look!
Weekend
Although we´re celebrating orthodox Easter this weekend, the Norwegian Easter break is over and our friends are back from Nice. So we got together over dinner and wine at our place to start the weekend right. Sammy was very happy to see them both and was all over the place with joy! 😉 And so were we! They came with stories of the Mediterranean, of 20 degrees in the shade and of antique markets. We have to go there together!

Winter is back
Can you imagine how happy I was when I woke up this morning to see at least 10 cm of newly fallen snow? (hint: not at all!)
This morning was a disaster in every way, had to wake up at 6 just to find out I wouldn´t have to work after all, but then again they changed their mind, so I had to literally run to reach the train, which was delayed (Thank God!), ´cause then I was told we´ll leave it for tomorrow in the end. Of course I´m billing them, but that´s besides the point. The point is there were almost no buses, it was really early, cold, chaotic and nobody should go through that unless strictly necessary. Hahaha! Besides, I had to wear my winter boots! Bhuuuuu!
