Shopping in Copenhagen

Shopping in Copenhagen is definitely more fun than in Oslo! I had a tight budget this time, but that didn´t stop me from scoring a few scoops nonetheless! 😉 It´s tight budgets that set creativity loose, right?

I loved this place- Studio Travel Vintage, which I stumbled upon in the heart of Copenhagen, in a desperate attempt to locate last year´s gem, that had unfortunately closed its doors in the meantime. I´m sucker for high-end vintage, minimalist presentation and good service and this place had all of the above! I´d rather pay twice as much as in a regular store if somebody does the selection beforehand, so I don´t have to spend hours hunting for treasures. The choice was easy here, they had many cashmere sweaters and I found a lovely V-neck one in black, that will probably be a favourite for years and years.  IMG_7606 Continue reading

Weekend

Although we´re celebrating orthodox Easter this weekend, the Norwegian Easter break is over and our friends are back from Nice. So we got together over dinner and wine at our place to start the weekend right. Sammy was very happy to see them both and was all over the place with joy! 😉 And so were we! They came with stories of the Mediterranean, of 20 degrees in the shade and of antique markets. We have to go there together!

Copenhagen part I

We arrived on Thursday at around 9 pm at our friends´ amazing apartment in Østerbro and were welcome with bubbles, Danish roast beef, sesame broccoli salad, remulade (a sort of mayo with pickles inside), to mention some of the goodies. We chatted and toasted and pet their dog until we girls collapsed at around 1, but the guys carried on until 4 am. There was the joy of seeing each other again, all those nooks in the apartment that had to be discovered, you name it.

Bedroom inspiration

We´re so dissatisfied with our bedroom, we need to do something about it and that soon! The thing is we need a bigger wardrobe (and prettier!), but we also want to redo the floors and that needs to be done first. Hence, until we have enough money (and the time) to change the floors in the whole apartment, I´ll stick to pinterest and the blogging world. The room needs repainting in a warmer color and that too has to be done after the flooring. So here is some inspiration! What do all these rooms have in common? They´re quite big and very charming! I love antiques, old mirrors, frames, lamps and mid-century design. Which one is your favorite? Mine is the first and the third!

I love Paris in the fall

We´re going to Paris for a week in September! Weee! There´s a trade show my husband is attending and I get to toggle along. I´m soo looking forward to it! All the croisants and the eclairs we can eat, walk till we drop, shop at the best fashion boutiques, attend a jazz concert and drink wine all night! Besides, I need to go to some antique markets this time, plus meet a couple of friends. Ai, ai, ai, la vie en rose!

Summer is on its way

Oh, I can feel it already! Winter is gone, I can smell the fresh air, but it doesn´t have a sting to it anymore. Summer is on its way! I´ve been longing for it for so long, anticipating, making plans, I´m sure it will be the best summer yet!

We don´t have that many holiday plans yet, but we´ll probably take all those weekend trips we never get around to do otherwise. Except for two short breaks in May- me in Lisbon with a friend and Vuong at a fair in Barcelona, and 10 days in Belgrade in June, we have absolutely no idea what we´ll be doing. It just has to include Sam and some good weather. And shrimps and white wine.

Take a look at Drøbak, it´s a small town dream just an hour away from Oslo where we spent a Saturday last year.  It was such great fun, can´t wait to go back. They have a lovely antique shop, white wooden houses, a small marina and a couple of restaurants. Who needs more?

Wish list

I´ve bought a yellow basket from Ferm Living and a red one from Muuto, the ones  I was referring to in an earlier feed, I even splurged on a Vipp garbage bin. I´m getting there. Right now I´m focusing on the home environment- I want my house to be tidy, inviting and organized. I want fresh flowers or some sort of greenery and I want things to have a place of storage.  I´ve been making lists ever since I was 16, so I figured why not make a public list? It kind of holds you to it, if you know what I mean. So here are my most wanted things (except for those I already mentioned in earlier entries):

Organizing

I´m not good at organizing things. I grew up with my grandma until I was 13 and she never threw away a thing. I collect everything from books and magazines to jam jars and porcelain cups. My husband put up with it for a few years, but is been urging me for quite some time now to make some changes. Our biggest problem is that we don´t have enough shelves and cupboard place, so things just clutter around. So while I dream of an antique cupboard just for our inherited china, I need to figure out what to do with all the mess around the house. For example we have a dog cage for Sam that´s half the size of our bed. And where do you think it is? Besides our bed, in the bedroom. We also have 40-50 pairs of shoes, many of which are in the hallway, helter skelter. Furthermore, all our books are in a horrible state of chaos, ever since we removed the wall between the kitchen and living and threw away our IKEA library. So here´s what I figure we need:
