Pinterest Friday

I wish you a Pinterest Friday- glossy and perfect! šŸ˜‰

IĀ“m been a bit under the weather the last couple of days, my throat is soar and IĀ“ve had a couple of shitty days at work on account of my state- yesterday I made some mistakes and today I forgot an appointment. šŸ˜¦ Oops! But then again, I didnĀ“t kill anyone, I donĀ“t know how doctors and nurses can live with themselves when that happens, Ā“cause IĀ“m a mess already from that! I guess they must have bad days, too. :-/ (And I canĀ“t just stay at home either, Ā“cause nobody pays me if IĀ“m sick.)

Weekend

Although weĀ“re celebrating orthodox Easter this weekend, the Norwegian Easter break is overĀ and our friends are back fromĀ Nice. So we got together over dinner and wine at our place to start the weekend right. Sammy was very happy to see them both and was all over the place with joy! šŸ˜‰ And so were we! They came with stories of the Mediterranean, of 20 degrees in the shade and of antique markets. We have to go there together!

Me-time

ItĀ“s Friday again and this week has been glorious. New couch, new String shelf, lots of coffee and dinners with friends and plenty of me-time. šŸ˜‰ IĀ“ve managed to do my nails (hate it), read a book- The Coffee shop of my Lost Youth by Patrick Mondiano, made some moussaka and gave away a couple of things we donĀ“t need anymore on the internet.

Today I went to work early, just to be sent home again when the defendants failed to show up. Well, well. I have the whole day to myself and I get paid for half of it, too.;-) Cuddling up with Mr. Beo (the cat) and watching some good old Netflix, I reckon.

Have a lovely Friday!

A busy week comes to an end

What do you reckon? ItĀ“s Friday again! Or Friday at last! Whichever one suits you!

I for one am very happy itĀ“s nearly weekend and ValentineĀ“s day on top of it, maybe thanks to the glass of wine and the flowers I bought myself, but IĀ“m not so romantic anyway, so I donĀ“t mind.:-)Ā IĀ“m done with translating the silly Work and Work Place Protection brochure, IĀ“m done traveling for a week or so, happy to be at home with man and pets, not needing to check in or check out, catch any planes or any trains. And itĀ“s just where I want to be. WeĀ“re celebrating ValentineĀ“s with SamĀ“s girlfriend and her parents, who live just down the street, dining and wining.

During the course of the weekend I need to finish some boring accountancy stuff, but first and foremost get lazy with the pets, drink lots of coffee, see a friend or two and take many naps. Haha! Just by reading that I realize I sound like a granny, in fact I used to be teased with that at my former work place, just because I like silk scarves and 60s cut. šŸ˜‰

I hope you have a lovely day, whether you celebrate ValentineĀ“s or not! And now a couple of pictures from my last daysĀ“wandering.

My week

This week has been much more eventful than the last several ones, but it made me so full of energy! Among the many things that happened in the past days, I attended a Buddhist funeral, applied for a loan at the bank in order to be able to redo our bathroom, went to the movies, to a dinner party and hosted a small dinner party myself.

I saw Blue Jasmine by Woody Allen with a friend who moved out of town. Such a beautiful picture, I definitely recommend it! The subject was human frailty and the pursuit of happiness, but also the incessant seek for something more, something better, Ā something else. And deceit. In all its forms. Including self deception. It was brilliant!

Cate Blanchett and her wardrobe were the star attraction, I swear IĀ“d kill for every single piece of clothes she was wearing! After the movie date we resumed with a bottle of cava, chit-chatting about husbands and kids (pets on my part), everyday demands, work and colleagues and so on. About men who donĀ“t do enough and who donĀ“t appreciate everything weĀ“re doing around the house. Sounds familiar?;-)

On Friday I attended a dinner party at a Danish friend of ours, we were five people and a French bulldog and had more fun than weĀ“ve had in ages! We had prosecco and brut and regular wine and some more prosecco. And pasta Bolognese. Perfect gathering.

Yesterday I worked for a couple of hours, then I had to help out in the blockĀ“s back yard, because the Norwegian way is do-it-yourself instead of hiring somebody to save you the trouble. Mumbling my way through it, as frustrated as ever, I ran off after 40 minutes and went to the flea market with Sam. We werenĀ“t that impressed, I only found a broad fur collar (like the ones you wear on top of a cocktail dress), but Sammy got a sausage and I had a waffle. And we had fun together since weĀ“re best friends. šŸ˜‰ ItĀ“s great having a dog, so much company and you donĀ“t have to ring the whole telephone book to see if somebodyĀ“s free for lunch. HeĀ“s always willing to keep you company.

In the evening we had friends over for pizza and cake, they made the pizza, I made the cake. And I had to wash the floors, which is great, Ā“cause I donĀ“t think I would have done it otherwise.

Today IĀ“m having a day off from social affairs, just me, my man and the pets. WeĀ“re taking Sammy to the woods again and maybe weĀ“ll see a movie this evening. ThereĀ“s a festival in town- Film from the South and they show many independent pictures, but itĀ“s almost impossible to find something that doesnĀ“t run at 1 pm or at 9 oĀ“clock pm.

Meanwhile IĀ“m drinking loads of coffee and IĀ“m almost dosing off in my dressing gown, happy itĀ“s Sunday. I have a tiny bit of pumpkin in my fridge, maybe IĀ“ll make some pumpkin pie?
