Weekend treat

How have you been and what´s your weekend been like? 😉 We had amazing weather and spent our Saturday mostly outside with a glass of Prosecco in our hand, barbecuing, picking raspberries and having fun. The day started by giving Sam a much needed bath, ´cause he´s been dipping in all the ponds and bays and stank like a dog pound. I then took him for a long walk in the sun to dry and we ended up in Kaffebrenneriet in Grønland, in a former fire department quarters, where they have a pretty garden and amazing coffee to savour.

Another week has gone by

Long time, no see. I was busy with my guests, who left on Wednesday afternoon, then worked long hours on Thursday and then summer came back to Norway, so I had to make sure I enjoyed it properly! 😉 Actually summer came back on Wednesday, so we´ve been frantic about staying outside in the sun, drinking ice coffee and white wine, going to the beach and so on.

August

August has been awesome so far! The weather is pretty on and off and makes me long for Greek beaches and cloudless skies, but our social life has been amazing. My brother is visiting with his wife, yesterday was V´s birthday and the rest of the crew is back from holidays. Later on this month a friend is coming over with her boyfriend for a short holiday and at the end of the month- my mom and auntie will be visiting us, too.

Sunny day

A couple of days ago we had great weather and we enjoyed the afternoon by the beach. We couldn’t be bothered to take a boat and spend the entire day on an island, so Sørenga, a 15 minutes walk from home, sounded most appealing. With an ice-coffee in our hand and Sam in the lead, the world was a pretty awesome place to be.  IMG_6155 Continue reading

Lunch at Vino Veritas

Yesterday I had lunch with a dear friend at Vino Veritas and I liked the place so much I decided to move Vuong´s birthday party there! 😉 It´s a local tapas restaurant, just 5 minutes from our home, they have lots of space and a lovely terrace, so we can bring Sam and invite friends with kids, too! 😉 Yey! And then we can go home for cake, if people feel like it. So I can´t wait! 😉

Sunday in Oslo

Last Sunday we both had a day off and thought it´d be nice to spend it outdoors since the weather Gods were on our side. 😉 We decided we should take a stroll along the Aker river with Sammy, so he could run freely and take a dip here and there. There´s nothing like a bath in the river to cool off this happy dog of ours. We were heading towards the Food Court- Mathallen, but then we saw Nedre Foss Gård, a restaurant I´d just tried a couple of days before and that appealed to us now, as well. The court yard was pretty and summery, all “dressed up” in orange. 😉  The service was great and so was the food!IMG_5900 Continue reading

June

Hi, folks! What have you been up to lately? 😉 June has been a good month for me, the weather is starting to look up, there´s an abundance of flowers and greenery everywhere, work has been more steady and my depression- history. The last couple of weeks, living has been easy, working 3-4 hours a day, leaving me lots of time to spend walking with my baby, lunching and dining with friends, making popsicles and light salads or just drinking Prosecco and watching Dexter til early morning hours. 😉

I´m that crazy dog lady

You know those old ladies walking around with small dogs like they were their babies? That´s me in 30 years, only with a big fur baby! I´d made up my mind, I was never going to turn into one of these crazy dog ladies! I couldn´t stand them! Such a lack of insight! And yet I am all of that now. Most of my spare time revolves around Sam. I talk to him on the street. I kiss him loudly and I ´d do pretty much whatever it takes to make him smile, like in this picture.

Café Sara

Yesterday afternoon we met with a couple of friends over a beer and some Mexican food. We´ve been regulars at Café Sara for more than 12 years now and it´s never disappointed us. The food is yummy, the prices- low and the atmosphere- perfect, whether you´re a broke student or a millionaire. It´s neither more, nor less than it pretends to be and that´s perhaps its recipe for success. A quick lunch, a late night dinner, a couple of beers in the backyard or simply a Friday evening with friends, with café Sara you´ve got it right! And you don´t see any slick stuck-up people as in the Western part of the city (we don´t care too much for them).IMG_5294

Fiddling about

I was out of town for 3 days for work and I can´t even begin to tell you how good it is to be home again! Hotel life is smooth enough if you have someone to share it with, but when you have to eat alone two days in a row and watch silly series on TV because you decided to be “generous” with your significant other and leave the Mac at home, not so much… 😉

On my way home I got to pick some wild flowers and they light up the whole house! 😉 I also might have bought a pair of high heels sandals, although the budget didn´t allow it. 😉 Oops!
