Hi, friends! Missed me? I don’t know what I do with my time, it flies so fast! I’ve been trying hard to learn how to drive responsively and it seems to be such a big task for a wooly-headed person like me. I keep driving 20 km under the speed limit on a highway and 20 km over in the city! Plus I get really impatient with bikes and people who cross the street when they shouldn’t. Not to mention that I can’t concentrate for two hours in a row for the life of me, I probably have some undiagnosed ADD, ’cause I’ve always been like that. Haha!

Sunday in Oslo
Last Sunday we both had a day off and thought it´d be nice to spend it outdoors since the weather Gods were on our side. 😉 We decided we should take a stroll along the Aker river with Sammy, so he could run freely and take a dip here and there. There´s nothing like a bath in the river to cool off this happy dog of ours. We were heading towards the Food Court- Mathallen, but then we saw Nedre Foss Gård, a restaurant I´d just tried a couple of days before and that appealed to us now, as well. The court yard was pretty and summery, all “dressed up” in orange. 😉 The service was great and so was the food! Continue reading
Park life
What have you been up to lately? For the last couple of days I haven´t had any assignments and the weather has been great, so we got to be outside most of the time (me and Sam), while V has been working his ass off to prepare for SEEK (Berlin trade show).
As I was agonizing about an invoice that the state hadn´t paid in 6 weeks instead of 3-4 and, feeling I would soon burst into a fit of rage (or worse, into tears!), I took my buddy Sam to the Botanical Garden to meet with a colleague and blow out some steam. And what do you know? The money came eventually and we got ourselves a pretty awesome day as a bonus! Picnic in the park! Another friend came after a while and we chatted, browsed through magazines, threw balls for Sam to fetch and went back and forth to the café for water, coffee and ice-cream. 😉 Continue reading
A Walk alongside the Aker River
The best thing about Sundays is waking up late, drinking coffee in bed and doing something together as a family. We usually pick a route and buy some potato nan from our local Indian place (Punjab) and then walk to a coffee place. We´ve been talking a lot about following the river Aker upstreams, back in the day it used to be quite shabby, but now they´ve cleaned it up really nicely and we didn´t meet any drug addicts or dealers in our way. Normandy
Five years ago we were in Paris for a meeting my husband attended with his work at that time, Le Palais des Thes. And since it was summer and we´d heard so much about Normandy, we decided we should give it a try. It´s only a 1,5 hour train ride away from Paris and the accommodation not a bit as soaring as in Cote D´Azur. We´d seen for us lovely food, sunbathing by the sea and Indian nights. Such poor judgement! The food was amazing in every way and so was Honfleur, where we chose to stay at our friends´ recommendation. The truth is it was lovely in every way, but not exactly what we´d imagined.. After a couple of days of rain, the sea was agitated and swimming not allowed. I think we might have ended up going to Greece after all that summer, just to get our dose of sunshine.;-) Living in a Nordic country means one should take one´s intake of vitamin D seriously! 😉
