Blooming

How are you all? I´ve been busy paying bills and making amends with my reckless living for the past five months. Y-ha!

On the other hand I haven´t been this good in ages. I work (although that chapter´s been a bit skimpy), I take my Sammy out for walks in the sun- the weather was amazing yesterday and we enjoyed it in the Botanical garden, I go to coffee dates with my other freelance friends, to the cinema- saw El Club yesterday (wouldn´t recommend it, though), I cook real meals, read books, watch House of Cards and socialize. 😉 And otherwise float on a big pinkish cloud. 😉13006474_10153531554086711_7301353363825007439_nSakura in Oslo. 😉 How beautiful is this? I feel alive again every time spring awakens mother nature. 😉12986794_1286494971365538_1898986082_oParty version of me. 😉12990944_10153530124921711_2152984765004156160_n12987022_10153531553906711_3023768362033731865_nMe and my bud, squinting in the sun. Spring days

Although I must have forgotten to take my pills today, with a fabulous disposition (not) and throbbing anxiety as an outcome, there’s no doubt I’ve been feeling much better lately. Yesterday I even made some chocolate mousse, caught a movie-“Hail, Caesar!” by the Cohen Brothers (God, they´re a bunch of loonies!) and had a couple of drinks, on an almost regular Wednesday. 😉  By the time I went to bed it was past “Christian hours” (I love this expression in Norwegian!), so there´s a slight chance that today’s shape might be directly linked to that.. 😉 haha!

I´m back!

Hi, how are you all? I´ve been down with the flu for the the better part of last week and it´s been horrendous. And as if being inactive wasn´t a bore in itself, laying in bed for so many days in a row threw out my back, too! Every inch of my body hurt, I could barely breathe and I either froze or had hot flashes, in fact I had to change the sheets so many times I didn´t have anything to put on the bed in the end!;-)

Spring wardrobe

There hasn´t been much sign of spring in Oslo yet, but yesterday I could smell it for the first time, through my bedroom window, as I´m lying in bed down with a cold.

Spring always gets me in the mood for a change and since change is all I´ve been through lately, now I´ll concentrate on the harmless changes, like a seasonal wardrobe and the likes. 1221176106001-a-stresa_normal Continue reading

Getting by

Hi, how are y’all? Thank you for hanging in there with me, I´ve been pretty emotional on the blog lately, haven´t I? I can´t wait for the day when I´ll feel up to writing about pretty dresses and pretty shoes again, I tell ya! I´m not there yet, though. 😉 It´s still a bumpy road here, although most days are good now and not the other way around. 12788635_10153418545161711_1853126790_o

“Martisor”

Today I´ve had a bad day

And I don´t only mean

A bad hair day,

But the kind of day

When your fears

Are palpable,

When all your sadness

Resurfaces from some

God forgotten place

And biblical guilt

Haunts you

Until you want to scream

And say “I give in”!

All this turmoil

Makes me tired,

Makes me want to crawl

Back into my shell

Where it doesn´t matter

If you´re good or bad

`Cause you´re miserable anyways.

But I fight it.

I´ve been so happy

These past few days,

I threw myself at happiness

Like it wasn´t deceitful

Like I believed I could do it.

Nothing´s changed, though

It might be the “MARTISOR”-

The Romanian way

Of celebrating spring,

There´s no sign of spring here, you see-

And my anxiety gets the best of me.

A Lovely May Day

I love long weekends and May is full of them! This Monday was Pentecost and we had nice weather, so we went on a walk with our dear Sammy. They say this May is the coldest in some years (I forget how many, Norway is all about weather records as it is!), so I put on way too many clothes, just to find out I didn´t actually need a sweater and a wool scarf, a cotton one would have  done just fine. 😉

Oslo life

This week has been quite uneventful for my part- I started working on Tuesday, did some laundry and some spring cleaning in between, took a couple of longer walks with Sammy, “stole” some lilac branches from the park every other day and went to a dinner party yesterday.

Norway is still giving summer a thought, keeping us “en suspense” for now and I find it hard to dress, always ending up on the wrong side of the scale, either too cold for my outfit, or too hot. Layering is the solution, I just need to learn how to do it properly! 😉

Bucharest

We´re back in Bucharest and it´s great! 😉 Haven´t been on a holiday since last year, except for a short 3 days´ break in Vienna at the beginning of January. In addition to that, Romania is really nice this time of the year- the accacia trees are in bloom, the temperature is warm, but not steamy and everything is green.

We got here on Wednesday about midnight, my brother and sister-in-law picked us up at the airport and we had some drinks at our auntie´s place where we´re staying this time. They´d bought some corn puffs and my mother had made some roast potatoes and chicken, so we had a late night dinner, too.

Yesterday we woke up late- it had poured all morning and the air was fresh, but warm, just the way I like it. 😉 We had coffee and breakfast at Origo, where we´re regulars when in town. They have the best coffee ever. Afterwards we walked for a bit and grabbed a cab to my brother´s place to catch up with mom and babysit our niece while she was going to the dentist.

1st of May

Yesterday we had a day off and had planned in advance to meet with our friends Kristin and Jack and their kids for a stroll in the Ekeberg Sculpture Park. I invited them over to our apartment first and served them freshly baked ham and cheese horns, coffee and juice. After playing with Sam and Beo, the kids were excited to go outside and walk for a bit. The park is just 15 minutes away from our place, but it´s like entering a whole different world nevertheless. An enchanted one. IMG_2884 Continue reading
