This summer I don´t want a lot, I promise! I have all I need and more. I´ve got a family, friends, a dog, a cat and someone to love who loves me back.
This summer I don´t want a lot, I promise! I have all I need and more. I´ve got a family, friends, a dog, a cat and someone to love who loves me back.
I´m in a strange mood today. On Monday it´s time for my taxes and I´d rather dig a hole and climb in it than prepare for it. But hey, denial is my second name, so what´s new?
The weather is moody and all I feel like doing is curling up with a movie on the couch. I should wash the floors, there are some dishes to be done and some clothes to be put in place. How trivial for a Saturday, though, don´t you find?
I brought some spring in the house, some lilac and chestnut flowers that I picked with Sam the other day. 🙂 I need a new table and researching for it made me smile: I have such good (though terribly pricey) taste! haha! Let me show you what I mean!

I´m home again and it´s lovely, but also a bit sad. I came back to fewer things in the apartment since V moved all his stuff and it left me with a strange feeling , although we´d agreed upon it, so it was no surprise. It´s the end of an era and it hurts, even more so when it comes with the realisation that hardly anything lasts, not even love. Or at least ours didn´t.

We were loud. Boy, were we loud! Back in high school, loud was all we knew. Crying for attention, begging to be seen. We felt we could have it all (at least I did) and yet we belonged to the sacrificial generation that had no illusions of a better future. Only dreams. But God did we dream! Our dreams were as wide as corn fields, as tall as skyscrapers! We would make it, and make it big!
Many years later, it´s still the two of us. People come and go, friendships last for a while and so do relationships, even we found ourselves estranged from each other on more occasions than one, but we hold on to each other until we patch things up and move forward. I´m not good at calling, neither is she, she doesn’t even have a fb account any more and so months go by without us sharing a word, but when we do meet it´s like in high school all over again. We laugh until we cry, while sharing a bottle of Prosecco and telling each other all sorts of funny stories from our lives and line of work, me with my criminals and she with her pupils, I tell ya, it´s one hell of a life we´re leading!
Actually I´ve been good lately, not buying much stuff and trying to get even better at using what I have and declutter my closet some more. But dreaming is allowed and at one point I´ll be able to afford nice stuff again! 😉 So if I were to go for a wardrobe update, this would be it!

I´m at home for a week and it´s so good to be around close family and friends! Yet I can´t help but feel estranged. I´m gliding in, just not really. I feel so out of place, so obviously different, wearing my sandals (mostly because my ballerinas are golden and I feel they´re too glitzy for a Wednesday morning) when everyone else is wearing a jacket! At 23 degrees! I forgot that 23 degrees is not much here, though, in summer it´s closer to 40 degrees.

If you haven´t had the chance to see the exhibition yet, you should! I´ve been meaning to go for ages and I´m happy to say I can finally check it off my list! It closes on the 15th, so it was now or never. I´d never been to Henie Onstad, mainly because I don´t drive and I never go out of town if I don´t have to, unless it´s for the big abroad!
But Kusama was impressing! Of course, we could have picked a better day, Sundays are busy and there were queues and kids everywhere, but then I´m not the very artsy type, so I didn´t need ages to see everything, I was happy to take in the atmosphere and get dizzy from all the polka dots. 😉

I can barely believe it, spring is finally here! You have no idea how long I´ve been waiting for it, walking around in tiny jackets and freezing my b* off! But yesterday it finally came to town!

May is here already, time sure flies fast, next Tuesday I´ll be going home for a whole week! Yippee! Meanwhile I´ve been doing some work related traveling, attended a couple of parties, congratulated a friend of mine with her newborn baby and went to see her, walked Sammy in the woods and now I´m thinking of starting on a diet or joining the gym. I hate both of them, but the gym appeals to me even less than food restrictions!:-( Continue reading
I started on this entry on Wednesday and called it Hump Day (aka Wednesday, don´t think of silly things, please!), at that time I was frustrated with the world and its lack of courtesy, so I felt grateful to be two days away from the weekend, Prosecco glass in my hand. 🙂 Yesterday however I was in a different state entirely, so I changed the title to Almost Weekend and uploaded these serene pictures to go with it. I didn´t manage to write any text, ´cause my mother called and we talked for ages. Then she passed me Diana, who told me silly little things like “people have to tidy up, you know. hihi!” And I was like “Let me see you when you grow up, how fun you think it is then!” haha! So today I realise it is the Weekend, which reflects in my choice of title. 😉
