Yippi yey, we’re a month away from Christmas! I can’t wait for the days off, the snow, cocoa in bed, evenings by the fire (unfortunately we don’t have a fireplace anymore, but friends of us do), reading something soothing (after many years when December meant exams, I like unwinding with Agatha Christie or British crime), walking the bear, making cookies and exchanging gifts. I put together a little list with what would make me happy to give and receive, if only the word budget hadn’t been invented and money was no issue.
I love me a piece of pottery and this fancy plate by Anette Krogstad is right up my alley. You can purchase it at Norway design. Continue reading
Vuong has finally opened his first store in Markveien 28 in Oslo and it’s amazing! I’m telling you, he’s so talented and his esthetics are so on, it’s crazy! I felt so proud I shed a couple of tears! Hopefully it will be a great success, I know I’ll do my bit to advertise for his products!
I promised you a couple of pics with my freshly painted apartment. I’ve tried to style it a bit, mostly with new plants, since I love my stuff and I find it hard to part with it for a lighter image. 😉
Hi, how are you all doing? I’m pretty well. Except for the fact that I’m tired and short-tempered most of the time (winter and depression combined), it feels I haven’t been this well in years. Had I no been approaching the moment when I have to sell the apartment and all the effort this implies, I’d be on top of the world. 😉 A huge electrician bill, a new dishwasher and a cooking top, painting the bedroom and the living-room are only a couple of examples on things that have to be in place before the apartment can be put on the market. In addition to that, I’m busting my ass off working to pay the remaining debt to the fiscal authorities when all I can do is dream about how our new apartment will look like and how I can’t wait to decorate it. Dark, dreamy colours and quality furniture will hopefully characterise this new part of my life, since there will be less need to fill empty rooms and consequently we can take the time to find the right stuff. I have a new favourite webstore- VAAR! Haven’t bought anything there yet, but both exclusive furniture, amazing vintage jewellery, ceramic bowls and retro lamps are on my list! 😉 The shop came to life as an extension of the photo studio, the owners write, and you can definitely see they have a trained eye.
I don’t know about you, but I’ve always loved the Egg by Arne Jacobsen. Both the organic form and the cognac color appeal to me and owning something this timeless is a dream for all us interior aficionados. Continue reading
Hi, peeps! What’s up? I’m dead tired after working alone yesterday, whisper interpreting for many hours on end is the worst and my throat is still sore. So I called it a day off, took Sammy to the woods and now I’m planning to dose off on the couch for an hour or so. 😉 Continue reading
I’m a diva to the bone- crazy about the real bourgeois feeling with dark colors, heavy velvet/silk curtains, wooden board flooring and industrial windows. Also I’m a sucker for the artsy chaos you see in the magazines, but find it hard to stop when the look is just right and end up with a bohemian look instead. Continue reading
Hi, peeps! What have you been up to? I hope you´ve missed me, I know I have! 😉 I´ve been busy worrying, working on my accountancy, painting the spare room for the airbnb (almost there!) and walking Sammy. On Tuesday however we flew to Ålesund for the world´s shortest fall break. I had a small assignment there yesterday and so I thought we should use the opportunity to spend some quality time, especially since Frederic hadn´t been there before, this was as good a chance as any. I´m in a strange mood today. On Monday it´s time for my taxes and I´d rather dig a hole and climb in it than prepare for it. But hey, denial is my second name, so what´s new?
The weather is moody and all I feel like doing is curling up with a movie on the couch. I should wash the floors, there are some dishes to be done and some clothes to be put in place. How trivial for a Saturday, though, don´t you find?
I brought some spring in the house, some lilac and chestnut flowers that I picked with Sam the other day. 🙂 I need a new table and researching for it made me smile: I have such good (though terribly pricey) taste! haha! Let me show you what I mean!
Well Christmas is not here yet and I hope it never comes. My life is a complete mess for the time being, but dreaming of clothes is therapy, right?!
So if I were invited to a New Year´s Party, I would be wearing this:
