BO BEDRE writes about EAM!

The long-awaited moment is finally here: Bo bedre, one of Norway´s biggest interior magazines suggests EAM´s products in their Christmas issue! We´re hoping this will be the break-through we´ve hoped for all this time! Take a look and pick your choice! My husband makes the slickest handcrafted leather accessories you´ve seen in ages!

Weekend in Copenhagen

IMG_7463Greetings from Vesterbro, Copenhagen! We landed yesterday morning, it´s been drizzling ever since and the grey skies invite you to hibernate. Fortunately, we´ve rented a lovely apartment with airbnb and we can do just that. We took an early flight yesterday morning (and the only person who hates early flights more than me is V!) and we spent the afternoon in the neighbourhood, ate some yummy smørrebrød at Dyrehaven, had a coffee at Enghave Kafé and bought some wine at a local winery. I had me a nap while V watched Netflix and then we paid our friends a visit in Østerbro, where we shared some champagne and V helped with peeling root veggies. I was being a diva on the couch with an electric blanket on my belly since “that time of the month” renders me totally helpless.

Pretty things I fancy

Fall is here and I´m getting cosy in our apartment again, digging up the wool blankets, lighting candles and making soup. I´m starting dinner early these days, a glass of red wine in my hand, and let the flavours work their magic as long as they need to- soups, curries and baked veggies all the way. Yesterday I even made some apple jam from fallen apples in the neighbourhood, I´ll be sure to post the recipe in a couple of days´ time.

Since most time is spent indoors nowadays, I feel the need to renew this and that while I dream about exotic holidays and good books. So I made a short list of the most beautiful things I´ve seen in stores lately!

Wish list for a neat home

When it comes to a more zen type of house, we´re making progress! We hardly bought anything this year, in fact we only dragged a retro tricycle in, replaced the couch (with a retro/used one), purchased a String shelf (like the one in image 2) and a shoe shelf from Normann Copenhagen. Oh, and won a 220€ voucher at Lafactory, a cool Danish furniture shop, where we chose this chair and this chair. Haha! Doesn´t sound like nothing, hm? But for us it is! We´re usually hopeless when it comes to over-stuffing our home!

But we´re getting there! We only need a couple of more storage elements and 30-40 m2 more! 😉 Here are my most wanted things:

Celebrating my husband´s success at Taco Republica

Yesterday my husband made his first satchel and I´m so immensely proud of him! He´s designing and making leather accessories by hand and although very talented, it´s been a tough ride. The Norwegian market is small and uptight and people are so rude, 90% of all mails he writes remain unanswered! This being said, we´re going to Berlin for the SEEK trade show! And we have high hopes! He´s already been contacted by a trade show in New York (they tried to persuade him to attend), an internet shop that wants to promote his products and a couple of private persons for smaller commissions. 😉 Yey!

So today we felt like celebrating his success and what better way to do it than with a beer and some tacos in the sun! In Scandinavia, you learn to make do with the weather you have and a sunny day is a festivity in itself! IMG_5066

Dreaming of summer

After spending 12 days in Romania, where summer had come to stay, I feel rejuvenated and ready to plan a trip to the riviera. Unfortunately, this won´t happen too soon, since we´re going to a trade show in Berlin in July and have to prepare a bit for that. But we´re either going to NY, Nice or Copenhagen in September and besides, summers can be a real treat in Oslo, with the proximity to the harbor and all the islands a boat trip away. 😉 No matter how it turns out, this is what I´m dreaming of wearing this summer. Tallowin purses

My husband works with leather and since the market in Norway is small, he´s doing a lot of research abroad to place his goods in bigger stores. On one of his daily “wanderings” in the internet design jungle, he stumbled upon Mark Tallowin, a British purse maker. I love the clean lines and the elegant look of his bags! Hope to be able to purchase one very soon! If you want to support quality and small manufacturers, this is definitely the place to start!

Colorful apartment in Oslo

I still like looking for cool apartments from time to time and on the days I´m truly miserable, there´s nothing like a colorful space to cheer me up. Let´s face it- this winter has been too long and too grey and I´m oh so fed up with it! But back to cheerful places, take a look at this ingenuous apartment for sale in Oslo! I love the light and spacious rooms, the touch of bright colors here and there, as well as the hardwood floors. Hope you see what I mean.
