I’ve been travelling back and forth to Bergen for work for three weeks now and to tell you the truth, I’m exhausted. I just want a weekend in my own bed, eating home cooked food and binge-watching Netflix. But since I’ll be here for a few more days, we decided we should come on Friday and spend some time together away from chores and to-do-lists.
Being home after 4 days of boring hotel life is a blast. Not only do I get to hang out with my two favourite guys in the world, but I can eat whatever I feel like, sleep to my heart’s content and move around without the need to put on a bra and take the elevator down 4 floors. Beat that! 😉
Hi, peeps! What’s up? I’m dead tired after working alone yesterday, whisper interpreting for many hours on end is the worst and my throat is still sore. So I called it a day off, took Sammy to the woods and now I’m planning to dose off on the couch for an hour or so. 😉 Continue reading
Lazy days in Oslo
Hi! I´m back before you had the chance to miss me! 😉 The days are sunny and long and I “pray” that nobody needs my services, so I can just lounge around all day long. I´m still going through the motions, there´s lots of things I don’t have the energy to get sorted yet, but I´m doing much better, opening letters, sweeping the floors and preparing dinner without the feeling that the world will come crushing down on me.
“Summer time and the living is easy
Fish are jumping and the cotton is high
Your daddy´s rich and you ma is good-looking
Hush, little darling, don´t you cry…”
Although nothing but a song -nobody´s rich and there´s no baby to lull to sleep- this is kind of how I feel every summer and this year is no exception. 😉 It might be because I have enough work, the days are long and warm and can be spent in the park or by the beach and I´m head over heels in love. ❤
All over again
You´ve never been sad
Until sad is all you can feel,
Until sadness takes your sleep away
And you feel yourself dissolve
Into a pool of sweat and fear
Too weak to let go
Too tired to keep going.
That kind of sadness
Is a special kind of hell-
Only known to the ones of us
Who feel with every inch of our skin.
It´s only when you´ve mourned the loss of love
On your own or in the arms of others,
That you can fully understand
How lucky you are to fall in love again.
Your beauty is majestic. I suck in your loneliness in the early hours. I want you all for myself. Wrapped up in my own blur of thoughts, while stepping out of the dark. You cure the sadness of my soul. When you kiss me, I forget it all. Continue reading
Poetry eludes me again,
Between sick, busy and in love
There´s little time to ponder.
I want to write about good stuff, too
But I don´t know how
It´s like I´m more private with happiness
Than I am with sorrow,
People are usually the other way around.
I read somewhere once that happiness
Is boring to write about
Because we´re all happy in the same way
Whereas unhappiness is individual-
That´s where the real beauty lies.
I don´t know about you
But I´ll take happy any day
I´ll smile from ear to ear
Just because I can
And if that makes me silly
So be it,
I caught my own eye in a window
The other day:
I haven´t been so beautiful in ages.
Carol by Todd Haynes
If you´re not madly in love with Cate Blanchett by now (as yours truly), you will definitely be by the time you´ve finished watching this movie! She´s been my muse for a while now and last time I had a serious crush on her was in Blue Jasmine, when I could have stolen her entire wardrobe! 😉
The picture is a masterpiece, from Carol Aird´s exquisite taste in clothes (and boy did women know how to dress and carry themselves in the 50s!) to the underplayed dialogue and the human frailty encompassing the whole story.
