These days we’re renovating the apartment in order to put it on the market and I’m hoping we’ll manage to find something to buy before Christmas, although F says I shouldn’t get my hopes up. New home or not, I can’t wait for Christmas to come and I ain’t ashamed to show it. 😉 I’m half way through my gift list and these are my absolute favorites for the season!

Dreaming of New Stuff
I have a new favourite webstore- VAAR! Haven’t bought anything there yet, but both exclusive furniture, amazing vintage jewellery, ceramic bowls and retro lamps are on my list! 😉 The shop came to life as an extension of the photo studio, the owners write, and you can definitely see they have a trained eye.
I don’t know about you, but I’ve always loved the Egg by Arne Jacobsen. Both the organic form and the cognac color appeal to me and owning something this timeless is a dream for all us interior aficionados.

Last minute gifts
Are you ready? I know I am. Still haven’t decorated much, I’ve been busy working, baking and agonising about things. I did venture into the storage room yesterday (finally!) and I managed to put up my Xmas stars and a couple of other light chains. So pretty! And while munching on my first batch of candied almonds (not my best one so far), Sam on the floor admiring the lights, I felt a tickling in my gut, no, I’m far from being pregnant, it’s the Xmas joy I used to feel before. It used to sneak up on me already in November, last year I never got any, but this year it seems “better late than never” works just fine. 😉
Today I bought the amaryllis flowers and the booze and this evening I’m hosting an ever so small Romanian party, just 4 friends, some mulled wine and a pizza.
So I thought I’d give you a couple of tips on super-duper gifts, although I’ll have to say, for your own sanity, I hope you’re not that behind. haha! 😉 Found Ricky Gervais’ fb. entry so funny: “I’m out Christmas shopping, where do I find the will to live?” Haha!

Living room lamp
I´m so excited, I can barely breathe! I finally found the perfect lamp for our living room! A limited edition Louis Poulsen PH lamp in copper! Ai ai ai! I´ve never seen anything this beautiful, I swear! But I should let you see for yourselves. I´ll place an order as soon as I manage to scrape together the 1200€ it costs!

Perfect Saturday
How are you doing? I´ve had perfect Saturday doing only things I enjoy! I went to town hand in hand with my husband, found a gift from Piet Hein for my friend Cristina, had lunch and got in touch with a guy doing research about Roma people from Romania (fate wanted that to happen since I´m a Romanian interpreter and they need one to accompany them for field trips to Stockholm and Copenhagen!), ate Mexican tapas with close friends to celebrate Cristina´s birthday and stayed up late chit chatting in bed with the birthday girl like teen agers on high school trips.
We also got around to order a new bedroom lamp from George Nelson since I decided that 2014 is the year we get our apartment in order. I already arranged a meeting with a professional to design a new wardrobe and we´re also looking for somebody to paint our walls and dig for the original floors. 😉 A few more baskets for the shoes and Sam and his crate out of the bedroom and it´ll finally turn into a romantic place you actually want to go to sleep in! Do you have that problem,too? That your bedroom is just one big mess of unfolded bedding and socks and orchids that stopped blooming ten years ago? Any advice is much appreciated! Finally I can show you our new hallway! We´re so happy with it! We still need some shelves (String) and some posters or photography, but all in all, it´s quite nice!;-) And check out our new George Nelson lamp! I´ve been drooling for it for ages!
Wish list
I´ve bought a yellow basket from Ferm Living and a red one from Muuto, the ones I was referring to in an earlier feed, I even splurged on a Vipp garbage bin. I´m getting there. Right now I´m focusing on the home environment- I want my house to be tidy, inviting and organized. I want fresh flowers or some sort of greenery and I want things to have a place of storage. I´ve been making lists ever since I was 16, so I figured why not make a public list? It kind of holds you to it, if you know what I mean. So here are my most wanted things (except for those I already mentioned in earlier entries):
