Hi, peeps! What’s up? I’m dead tired after working alone yesterday, whisper interpreting for many hours on end is the worst and my throat is still sore. So I called it a day off, took Sammy to the woods and now I’m planning to dose off on the couch for an hour or so. 😉

Turbonegro Concert and Other Adventures
How are you? I’ve had an eventful weekend that included a punk-rock concert, a dinner with friends, brunch at the nearest café, a walk in the neighbourhood, a hangout with my neighbour who had forgotten her keys and today I’m hoping for a Christmas market in town and coffee with a friend.

Cauliflower pie
Hey y’all! 😉 How ya’ doing? I’m pretty good. Still itching and still trying to hold my head above the water, but I’m getting good at it, so I might as well enjoy the swim. Haha! (sigh)
Yesterday I had a very short day and did very little with the rest of it, as it often happens with me and so I felt the need to make a yummy dinner and a cake on top of that, to justify my mere existence. haha!
And since I’d made a cauliflower soup a couple of days ago, I still had lots of bacon, cauliflower and cheese and some pie crust in the freezer, so I was good to go.

Changes around the Apartment
Those of you who know me, or have followed my blog for a while, have gathered that I’m a lazy part-time diva, not handy at all and with an insatiable appetite for luxurious interiors. And now I’m in a terrible mess, with getting divorced and all and when it doesn’t kill me, it tears me apart.
That being said, I work for 5 and refuse to succumb to the dreary realities of life and in the end I’ll be all right. One lovely day, as they say in Norwegian. 😉
In the meantime, if I am to sell the apartment, it’ll need some changes. I’m going to straighten it up a bit, if you know what I mean. I need an electrician and all sorts of other stuff, but I won’t bore you with any of it, it’s the interior I enjoy buying.

Espresso cookies, please!
As promised, here’s the espresso cookie recipe. I didn’t manage the deed yesterday, too tired for that (I actually fell asleep on the couch at 10:30 pm!), but today I got around to do it. After lazying around for the better part of the day, eating cold pizza for breakfast and pasta with a bit of this and that for lunch, I felt it was time to do some baking and then, in the middle of it, I realised I lacked an egg. So I knocked on the neighbours’ door and they didn’t have, either, they’d just eaten them for breakfast, but they invited me and Sammy to stay a bit and have a cup of tea. Needless to say we couldn’t have been more happy!

November mood
I survived a couple of intense weeks, including commuting for 3 h every day four days this week, but that left me completely without energy. And so my plan for today is to walk Sammy, Netflix, nap, Hbo, nap again, drink mulled wine and scratch my crotch. (not literally, of course) And then bake some pizza and espresso cookies. (recipe tomorrow)

Advent
As I was laying in my bf’s bath tub a couple of days ago, it struck me that in a couple of months’ time (not even that!) Christmas will be here and with it the whole shebang and I’m just not ready for it. I’m still broke and I still haven’t got any any closer to selling my apartment and it kills me to be in such a mess and, most of all, not knowing when it’ll end.
But hey, I survived this year, so I’m probably going to make it to next year, too. 😉 Meanwhile, I reminisce how everything used to be so good at Christmas time. I remember my first Christmas as a host and how happy I was to be putting together the menu- a crisscross of Eastern and North European cuisine, then all the years after when I’d bake cookies for work and make Christmas chutney and Lemon curd as go-to-gifts and felt like Christmas was the best time of the year.
November Weekend
I had a horrendous Friday, don’t feel like going into any details, you’ll have to trust me on that. And since I’d rented out my apartment for the weekend I had to sit in a corner on the couch and try not to shed any hair, which made me even more miserable. haha!

Fall in Oslo
If you still have a couple of days of holiday left and you don’t know where to go, you should see Oslo in the fall, before the snow sets in. It’s so pretty! Walking around with Sam today, before parting with him for another week, I decided to take my camera with me, risking to look like a hobo with a fancy lens, and capture the neighbourhood’s bonhomie.

Perfect Tuesday
I’ve had a perfect day, just perfect. Managed to do a little bit around the house, worked some, walked Sammy and now I’ve found the perfect cookie recipe that I’m dying to try.
Listening to Lenisha Nelson- I’m Good and soaking up the cosy atmosphere of my apartment that I’ve the chance to miss when the Airbnb guests were staying here. I definitely need some more light. And some more candles. And I’m so painting the bedroom in November! Limestone paint is the trick for a dark, luscious bedroom.
