There’s nothing I like more than waking up early on a day off, especially if it’s on a Monday. The promise of a long day, doing what I like instead of what needs to be done is not really descriptive of today, since I have a couple of translations to take care of and a lunch date, too. Still, I get to drink as much coffee as I want in my dressing gown, a wool blanket on my feet, listening to the rain drops outside.

Kristiansand
I’m out of town for a couple of days, this time in Kristiansand. It’s a pretty town in Southern Norway and although I haven’t gotten the chance to see much of it, what I’ve seen so far is pretty promising. My friend Svetla, who’d been here recently, urged me to book a room at the new Scandic hotel, by the “city beach”. Although this meant walking to the courthouse for a whole 5 minutes (and I’m incredibly lazy in the morning!), I reckoned it would probably do me good to have nice surroundings, a view and a spa on top of that!
A weekend retreat
Hi! How are you? I’m fine, tired from all the work and play, but in a light-hearted way. Can’t wait for Xmas, I need a small break when nothing else is on the agenda except for family, friends, good food and drinks and my darling Sam. 😉 (He’s spendig Xmas with us this year!) Continue reading
November mood
I survived a couple of intense weeks, including commuting for 3 h every day four days this week, but that left me completely without energy. And so my plan for today is to walk Sammy, Netflix, nap, Hbo, nap again, drink mulled wine and scratch my crotch. (not literally, of course) And then bake some pizza and espresso cookies. (recipe tomorrow) Continue reading
Chanterelles and Chèvre Pizza
A couple of weeks ago my friend Marion gave me a bag of chanterelles and I was thrilled! I thought to myself- I´ve just had some risotto porcini the other day, already made my yearly chanterelle stew , don’t feel like fussing with the process of pickling, but I have to do something super yummy with them!;-) Continue reading
Decorate with plants
How are you today? Monday and Tuesday went by like a dream and I thought I should pop by for a couple of words. 😉 I´ve just come home from a walk with Sam and had dinner with V and a friend, my man´s famous homemade pizza- delicious. I need to post the recipe soon! 😉
I´m drinking some tea and have just started on a book in Norwegian- The Hopeful by Nicolai Houm, so funny! Otherwise life is pretty good, aside from the fact that my energy level is on an all time low, so I need to nap like babies. Thinking of waiting for spring for a couple more weeks and if it doesn´t improve, change my medication. 😉
Meanwhile, thought I should introduce you to some healing plant trends from Pinterest. Anytime I need a small change, I buy a plant. It works for me! Continue reading
