A weekend getaway

Yesterday I had an assignment in Trondheim and so I suggested we should go there on Saturday, so we could have a little bit of time to wander around and eat our way through town. 😉 Which we did- lovely lunch at Baklandet Skydsstasjon on Saturday, hipster coffee at Soil and romantic dinner with a view at Astrum Grill and Raw Bar. 😉

The weather was horrendous, 3 seasons in one day, first sunny, even though it was freezing cold, then it started raining, then snowing, then hailing. Go figure. I was of course not too happy about it, I think winter is long enough as it is in Norway and now spring is long overdue. Oh, well. Nothing to do about it, though.13083215_10153554489061711_6601368665127318794_n Continue reading

Hagen in Trondheim

I’m in Trondheim again, a short day trip for work, but I have a few hours to kill.  And you know me, what better thing to do than go for a stroll (although the weather is shitty, meaning my feet are soaked and my  shoes -probably ruined!) and try out coffee and a wrap at Hagen, the talk of the town.😜😋☕️🌮 Organic food, slow cooked and the nicest service in ages.😎

Working Sunday

There´s nothing like waking up at 7 on a Sunday morning to boost your self esteem! 😉 Haha! Especially if you´ve had trouble sleeping, like I have lately.

Joke aside, work is one of the few areas where I still feel on top of things, so it was good t0 fly to Trondheim with an attorney I´m buddies with and that tried his best to fit me into his schedule just so he wouldn´t have to use another interpreter. If that´s not flattering, I don’t know what is. 😉 And right now I´ll settle for professional flattery any day! So sick and tired of the other type of flattery, I wish I were plain looking sometimes. It would be so comforting, people would have to peel one layer at a time, like an onion. Or not peel anything at all. Which would leave me better off than now, anyways. :-/

Perks of an Interpreter

Yey, 2016 is here and I´m back on track, meaning back to my workaholic old me. And that helps a lot when everything else seems to hang by a thread, I tell you! 😉

Yesterday I flew to Trondheim for a job, but the flight was delayed and I didn´t get to do much, other than take a bath, drink the overpriced wine and eat a real chunk of beef in the downstairs restaurant. Luckily, I´d made sure I had a couple hours on my hands after the assignment today, so I could take a stroll in this lovely city, grab a coffee and enjoy a long lunch on my own. IMG_8694 Continue reading

Freelance life: Hitra and Trondheim

I´m home again and it´s never felt better! I´m a delicate soul who gets very tired when traveling, so today I´m going to spend my morning in bed, then go for a long walk with Sammy and put my affairs in order in the afternoon.

But let me tell you more about my travels, it´s been great! I can never express enough gratitude for working as a freelancer and being my own boss! It´s so good for my nerves! ahahah! 😉 IMG_2759

Trondheim part 2

Today was another fun day in the quaint city of Trondheim! Ok, maybe city is a big word, but what a pretty town it is! I totally fell in love with it! I´ll tell you this, I´ll take the first chance I get to go back! Although it was raining this morning, it didn´t last, so I grasped the chance to explore it after hours.

Trondheim

Once in a while I get to travel in my work and this time the trip went to Trondheim. Although I´d been here before, last time was a brief weekend visit two years ago and before that I was a student mainly concerned with shopping and partying, so I can´t say I´d seen the city properly before. This time Vuong came along to keep me company and check out shops to place his products in, so I was in luck! Otherwise I would have most probably eaten i my hotel room and spent most of my afternoon napping. 😉 Remember I´m a napper?

August

Even though the calendar says otherwise, I feel we´re coming towards the end of  summer. Although the air is still warm, most festivals are over (not that I ever attend) and the rain seems to settle in. I started work for real last week and each day is busier than the last one. I don´t mind it, though. A sort of holiday atmosphere is still lingering in the air and people are in a better mood than they were in June, before they left for Italy, Spain, France or Greece. Or stayed at home  and couldn´t believe their luck when summer came to Norway, too.
