Sunny Day in Bergen

I’m not done with Bergen and Bergen is not done with me. In fact, I’ll be there for a whole week at the end of June with my good friend Adriana and I can’t wait! 😉 Another human trafficking case, but after hours, this baby is going to do some world class eating and shopping. 😉 haha!

17th of May

Help! On Wednesday it’s the 17th of May and I haven’t done a damn’ thing about it! In fact, I haven’t even had the chance to think of it, as busy as I’ve been stressing with the sale of the apartment, with Airbnb guests, work, Sam and my fragile condition- my immune system tends to collapse whenever things pile up.

In case you didn’t know, 17th of May is a major holiday in Norway. Not only is it their national day, when people celebrate the Constitution of this fairly young country, but it’s the children’s day, too. They get to march all the way to the castle while waving flags or playing their instrument in the school orchestra. Besides wearing “bunad”, the traditional national costume, Norwegians usually hold sumptuous Champagne brunches and go out people watching with their whole family.

Jumpstarting Easter Holiday

I’ve been travelling back and forth to Bergen for work for three weeks now and to tell you the truth, I’m exhausted. I just want a weekend in my own bed, eating home cooked food and binge-watching Netflix. But since I’ll be here for a few more days, we decided we should come on Friday and spend some time together away from chores and to-do-lists. Skjermbilde 2017-04-02 15.33.35.png

Oslo Love

Being home after 4 days of boring hotel life is a blast. Not only do I get to hang out with my two favourite guys in the world, but I can eat whatever I feel like, sleep to my heart’s content and move around without the need to put on a bra and take the elevator down 4 floors. Beat that! 😉

A Sunday Well-Spent

Saturday it snowed all day, it was grey and gloomy and a perfect day for baking. I and Sam didn’t do that much, we made some cinnamon rolls and then snuggled up indoors. But I’d promised him a walk in the woods on Sunday and, to our luck, the weather proved amazing just for that! I’d thought about going around lake Songsvann, just the two of us, since F was working all weekend, but then I remembered Gordana lives by another lake- Nøklevann- and there’s both forest and a café and all that, so why not ask her if she wants to join?  When I called her she was baking bread, so I said we’d be there around the time the bread is ready to be taken out of the oven. 😉 _mg_0284 Continue reading

Naked at the Well

Let me tell you about my day at the spa with Gordana, one of my closest and craziest friends. First, I need to specify it was my Valentine’s gift for F, but since I’d been misinformed about having to be nude in the entire spa area, he was so categoric in his refusal that I didn’t feel like insisting. I’ve always been a prude myself, not as much because I’m embarrassed over my body, ’cause the older I get, the better I look (hahaha!), but more because nakedness is intimate, in my opinion. skjermbilde-2017-02-18-18-29-04

Minibreak in Ålesund

Hi, peeps! What have you been up to? I hope you´ve missed me, I know I have! 😉 I´ve been busy worrying, working on my accountancy, painting the spare room for the airbnb (almost there!) and walking Sammy. On Tuesday however we flew to Ålesund for the world´s shortest fall break. I had a small assignment there yesterday and so I thought we should use the opportunity to spend some quality time, especially since Frederic hadn´t been there before, this was as good a chance as any. _MG_9714.jpg Continue reading

Stavanger

A couple of weeks ago I received a mail about interpreting during a two-days case in Stavanger and although I answered within an hour, they´d already found someone else. I have to admit I was a bit beat up about it, not that much for the money itself, but for the opportunity to travel. Besides, what made me really upset was that the trial is in November, but an interpreter is not seen as worth more than a couple of minutes’ waiting, if you’re not available, someone else will be. So when I got a call on Friday afternoon about traveling there yesterday for work, I immediately said yes, although it took a couple of arrangements to make it. _MG_9366.jpg Continue reading

Yayoi Kusama

If you haven´t had the chance to see the exhibition yet, you should! I´ve been meaning to go for ages and I´m happy to say I can finally check it off my list! It closes on the 15th, so it was now or never. I´d never been to Henie Onstad, mainly because I don´t drive and I never go out of town if I don´t have to, unless it´s for the big abroad!

But Kusama was impressing! Of course, we could have picked a better day, Sundays are busy and there were queues and kids everywhere, but then I´m not the very artsy type, so I didn´t need ages to see everything, I was happy to take in the atmosphere and get dizzy from all the polka dots. 😉13174112_10153581322056711_4753470620611204367_n Continue reading
