I’ve started writing a bit, nothing amazing, just short stories I have trouble wrapping up, so that’s why you haven’t heard from me in a while now. Otherwise I’ve been walking Sam in the woods and taken lots of pictures of mushrooms, there’s an awful lot of them this year and they’re so pretty! I’ve been trying to go to a mushroom course for two weeks in a row now, but the planets don’t seem to be aligning in order for that to happen- either I need to work or they’re fully booked. Oh, well. Next year, then!

Last minute gifts
Are you ready? I know I am. Still haven’t decorated much, I’ve been busy working, baking and agonising about things. I did venture into the storage room yesterday (finally!) and I managed to put up my Xmas stars and a couple of other light chains. So pretty! And while munching on my first batch of candied almonds (not my best one so far), Sam on the floor admiring the lights, I felt a tickling in my gut, no, I’m far from being pregnant, it’s the Xmas joy I used to feel before. It used to sneak up on me already in November, last year I never got any, but this year it seems “better late than never” works just fine. 😉
Today I bought the amaryllis flowers and the booze and this evening I’m hosting an ever so small Romanian party, just 4 friends, some mulled wine and a pizza.
So I thought I’d give you a couple of tips on super-duper gifts, although I’ll have to say, for your own sanity, I hope you’re not that behind. haha! 😉 Found Ricky Gervais’ fb. entry so funny: “I’m out Christmas shopping, where do I find the will to live?” Haha!
For your boyfriend, this espresso stovetop from Freud is a true jewellery. Continue reading
Xmas Eve and Xmas Brunch
Christmas in Norway is entirely destined to family. Whereas in Romania you´re expected to be at home during the day, but can choose go out for a drink with friends in the evening, in Norway, most places are closed and the city turns into a ghost town. It´s literally like in Oliver Twist, you can walk around peeping inside people´s apartments and see them dining and feasting and you´ll feel like the loneliest person alive. Continue reading
Christmas gifts for her
The jolly season is around the corner and I´ve put together a couple of gift ideas for the ladies. For my part, I can´t wait! I don´t think it´ll be a very generous Santa, but I´m sure I´ll get a couple of scented candles and perhaps a new sweater, in fact, I´m gonna make sure of that! 😉
Christmas gifts suggestions
Christmas is around the corner and this year I´m in the mood for treating my loved ones with fancy things. I´m generally a bad gifter, since I tend to offer what I myself would be glad for receiving, but if you by any chance have a luxurious taste, you´re in luck!;-) I love anything that´s natural, the simpler, the better. I get high on silk, wool, leather and marble. This is what I´d love to get this year!
Santa baby
It´s already November, so winter is practically knocking at our door. And since I love Christmas, boy am I looking forward to it?! I´ll be done with the 6 weeks´ trial in just 2 weeks, leaving me lots of time to put my accountancy in order, do some Christmas shopping and make my traditional biscotti and lemon curd. And because I´m a slave of all things pretty, this is my wish list for Santa: 😉

Our Christmas
A quick glimpse of our Christmas. We opened presents on the 25th, the French way. Forgot to take pictures on the 24th. Oops! Here are some Christmas moments. I hope you had a wonderful celebration! Happy boxing day!;-)
Christmas presents
This year I´m making most Christmas gifts myself. I am usually a workaholic, but this time of the year business is slow and I learned to enjoy it. Therefore I´m baking and personalizing presents I bought, knitting and writing Christmas cards. Nice time to be with friends, too, if you still have any left when you decide work is not everything in life. 😉 Enjoy your advent time!
