Getting through every day without losing the energy

>Yesterday was one of those horror days, I worked for 14 h. I left home in the morning and came back at night. Nauseous from the train ride, hungry and beat. But as soon as I opened the door, my three favourite persons in the whole world were overwhelmed to see me: Sam jumped me and kissed my cheeks, Beo miawed in his familiar way and rubbed himself by my legs and Vuong told me there was hot Vietnamese soup in the kitchen. I mean, what more can you want from life?! Am I not the world´s luckiest gal?!

Our home

I want to introduce you to our messy and maximalist, but friendly home. We´ve been together for ten years now and along our path we´ve collected a lot of things and gadgets, small works of art or simply souvenirs from the places we´ve visited. We´re into mid-century design and would rather save and invest in certain iconic objects from time to time than buy the regular Ikea stuff. On the other hand, I´ve been a student for ages and those years are best described as creative, but lacking in cash.

Back on track

I´m back at home and I´ve already started work. I woke up early, made myself a cup of Zespresso (´cause we´re too cool to have a Nespresso, like everyone else),  walked Sam for half an hour, including the mandatory ´scratch my belly´on the grass, then off to work. At 14:30 I´m home already and it feels unreal to have all this time on my hands. I´m thinking of baking something, I make a pretty good focaccia, and maybe a soup to go with. I´ll share some pictures of food I love making or just dream of making some time. What are you having for dinner today? Have a good week!

À la recherche du temps perdu- design and vintage stores in Palma

Yesterday was our last day of summer holidays and now we´re ready to board our plane and get back to our life. But first I thought I should share those amazing stores with you.

Galiana Days

For the eleven days we stayed in Palma, Galiana Days was our home. And home is the right word because we really felt at home. Creative environment, lovely hosts, just a block away from quaint Santa Catalina, the apartment was a joy and a retreat from the unbearable heat of Mallorca.

Towards the end of the holiday

Tomorrow is our last day in Palma. We´ve been having a great time, although I have to say, I really wish we could have rented a car. I´m in my thirties now and should be able to drive. Everything is so much more complicated when you have to wait for a bus that takes you where everybody else also goes. And there´s a limit to how much you want to spend on taxis.

Aside from that, Mallorca is gorgeous. We´ve managed to stay away from the worst charter places and have been on a search for the authentic, genuine Mallorca. We ate at small eateries as well as well-renowned restaurants, our taste buds were in heaven from so much amazing food. Pintxos and tapas, paella, fried and grilled sea food, Cambodian and Thai style dishes, there´s something for everyone. I bought a typical straw bag for shopping, culture pearls from a local store,  chocolate spread and ensaimades.

La femme d’antan

I discovered Cortana. What a bliss! For those of you who haven´t heard about it, it´s a Spanish high end brand. And their clothes are just fabulous! When I stepped into the shop, I felt like Alice in wonderland. Silk and other delicate fabrics, dreamy colours and a minimalist expression. Unfortunately I was at the end of my shopping budget, but I have hopes that some of you might find something to your liking. And while I´m at it, I´ll show you some of my favourite outfits on Pintrest.

Missing everyday life

We´re on holiday in Mallorca and it´s great! You have the weather, the beach, cava, the seafood, the shopping.  But the thing with holidays is that they always make you think more about your everyday life. And somehow you miss it more than you´re supposed to. You start thinking that you should be more creative while cooking, enjoy a good breakfast more often, find the time for a hobby, this sort of things. You hear about people going on a surfing holiday, others on a cycling holiday while you, you´re just happy to be away from daily routine. That´s until it sneaks up on you and you start missing the cat, the dog, your toiletries, your plants, everything. And then it´s good there´s only three days left before going home.
