Winter never came this year and everybody was so disappointed except for me- haha! One less thing to worry about- falling on ice with a big tummy! And freezing my butt off on top of that…But then it started snowing on Sunday evening and yesterday it was winter wonderland for a couple of hours or so. And so I took Sam out in the woods, disregarding my excruciating pelvis pain, and with my camera on my shoulder on top of that. 😉 It proved to be poor judgement since I fell on the ice the first chance I got. Being the good doggo that he is, Sam jumped on top of me “to save me” and so I ended up in an even worse state than the one I was already in. You know the feeling when the alarm rings and you can’t even budge? This is how my mornings have been lately- my body stiff with exhaustion, my limbs aching and my head throbbing with pain. It’s your own fault, I sometimes tell myself, but then it isn’t really, it’s just how this line of work is, either too much or too little to do. Crazy cold out there. Went to work, but nobody showed up, so I was sent home. Instead, I paid two of my English-speaking colleagues a visit and listened to them interpret an ever so boring trial about some corporate corruption scandal of some sort. They were amazing, but the topic was horrendous, so I went home after all. I had to light the fire and since we only have a stove in the kitchen, I moved my whole “office” there. Thinking of spending most of my day here, then bake a Pavlova cake and make a lasagna for this evening, when 4 colleagues and friends are coming for dinner. 😉
