How y’all doing? Nothing much here- dentist and doctor’s appointments, baking cookies and agonizing about my raging hormones and all their side effects. π Sam is with us until the 25th and we’ve been walking and walking, he’s been enjoying himself and I’ve been pretending I did, too, for his sake. Meanwhile I’ve been longing for warmer places, both while day dreaming and in my sleep. π
Gift ideas 2018
Christmas is around the corner, I’m done with most of my presents, so I can enjoy the rest of the advent socializing and baking. IΒ want to make biscotti and espresso cookies, the traditional Romanian babka, lemon curd, Christmas chutney and sugarcoated almonds. What can’t you do without for the holidays?
Budapest 2018
I hadn’t been to Budapest in 12 years and back then it was summer, I was young and had not traveled that much, meaning I could get enthusiastic about pretty much anything. I remembered it as untouched by tourists, “underdeveloped” in terms of shops and restaurants, but lots of fun. I rediscovered it invaded by hoards of tourists all huddled up from the cold, poorly dressed and way too loud, or maybe it was just me, I thought I had a serious case of fatigue until I got my period and realized it had just been hormones. Oh, well. Continue reading
Red Onion Marmelade

How have you been? Sorry for the long absence, these days I’m so lazy I need to really convince myself to participate in anything extra curricular. The cold weather doesn’t help, nor does the fact that I live slightly far away, so that when I’ve set foot in the apartment, I’m not getting out for the life of me. (In Romanian we say it so illustrative as “not even if you drip wax on me”-haha!) Continue reading
Chocolate mousse
This must be the easiest recipe EVER! And for my part, itΒ΄s also the best! β€ (mostly because I can actually make it, instead of just dreaming about it)

Γ lesund
Vestlandet (the Western Coast of Norway) has the same appeal for me as a movie star- yeah, it might be pretty, but that’s also all it is to me. Because living in Volda many years ago was so hard- both in regards to the language, to adjusting to a new culture, its rainy weather and its taciturn people, I never feel like going back.
Shakshuka

Yesterday I forgot my wallet and I came home starving, feeling like Oliver Twist- all that abundance in the coffee shops and no money to buy anything! haha!Β Continue reading
Lunch at Sentralen
Ever since I moved away from the city centre, most weekends have been about walking Sammy, visiting friends or having people over for coffee. Thinking back I’ve probably stayed in more often than not- taking in the view, doing yoga and baking cake. And since there was no Sam to walk yesterday and we’d both been quite busy lately, I invited F out for lunch, like in the good old days. π
Fall Days
For the last couple of weeks I’ve been taking my camera with me everywhere and the result is just amazing- I cannot remember when we had such a pretty fall last! β€

Israeli Baked Aubergines
If you’re anything like me lately- too busy for your own good, nurturing a bad cold and quite exhausted, to tell you the truth, then you’re in for a treat! These babies only take half an hour to make and they’ll fill your belly in the most indulging way! π Continue reading
