On account of this stupid virus and since Madde is so little, we decided not to go anywhere this summer. Instead, we’ve been waiting for the sun to come back and although the hot days of June seem to be gone for now, we’ve done our best with the Scandinavian temperatures of 18-21 degrees. We’ve been meeting friends for coffee or beer, roaming the woods with Sam and Madde (in a pram!) or cooking a better meal at home. And is there anything more summerly than a bottle of bubbles? Sometimes a label catches my eye and this is how we ended up with this cremant– it tasted like unripe apples and the sea. Continue reading
summer holiday
France 2018
This must be the longest holiday I’ve had since childhood, I tell him. So long that I wish we were somewhere in the countryside, so I could at least make some use of my time, like making jam or pulling weeds from the flower bed- haha!
Summer holiday
The days go by slowly, filled with small incidents and petty errands. In the evening, our heads are full of plans and the day after holds the promise of never-ending adventures, but the morning sees them all crumbling down, like a house of cards, due to the heat. I’m so lazy I could beat a cat in a idleness contest. I’m so lazy I could probably purr, I just haven’t tried it yet.
Moving out
Three weeks to go and my apartment will be someone else’s. I haven’t usually been that emotionally tied to the flats I’ve lived in, in fact, I normally can’t wait to move and start over somewhere else. And I haven’t been that youhuu-happy in it, either, still, for one reason or another it’s a really really sad departure.
Summer of Desire
I wanted to go to NY so bad this summer, but it’s still not happening. I’m seriously bounded by my expenses until the end of August, when the apartment will be officially out of my hands, which is why I don’t really dare to start dreaming about the (big) summer holiday. But we are going to France and I can’t wait. We’re going to Paris for a couple of days, then Montpellier, where F has family and fond childhood memories and the town will be our base to visit neighbouring places like Collioure. Maybe we’ll go to Nice from there, maybe to Barcelona, maybe settle on a couple of day trips to Marseille and Nimes.
Kardamyli, Greece
Long time, no see. Missed me? Last time I checked in, I was overworked and pretty much fed up, now however I´m back with new forces from a week´s holiday in lovely Kardamyli, Greece. A week of sunbathing, swimming in the sea, devouring delicious sea food, enjoying a glass of rosé in the shade of a fig tree or under a vine roof, counting mosquito bites and doing a bit of reading, too. 😉
