Apartment in Frogner

Still looking for a house or a bigger apartment, as you know. No rush yet, the one we´re living in is spacey enough. Besides we really enjoy living in Gamlebyen, but we´re so longing for a garden or at least a balcony! This is the perfect apartment! It´s in Frogner, my favorite residential area, it´s big enough and it has a lovely balcony! And I love their furniture. too!

Fabulous apartment in Rome

This apartment is designer Carola Vannini´s work of art in Rome and I wouldn´t mind living here while exploring the city! The furniture is carefully selected and kept to a minimum, so the flat´s main assets- the light and the curvaceous frame- emerge in all their splendor. Check out the view from the living room! Imagine staying in the very old town and having a terrace, now that´s what I call luck!

Penthouse in the heart of Paris

This is the home of Jacques Leseur, a former art director now working as a garden architect. The studio apartment is 155 m2 in Paris, with a charming garden that would make anybody green with envy. Love its simplicity and the clean choice of decoration.

Apartment in Oslo

Frogner is one of the most beautiful and fashionable boroughs in Oslo. It´s the place where elder ladies wear silk scarves and manicure and where elderly gentlemen have an impeccable posture and nice camel hair coats. I loved Frogner from the minute I saw it. For me it has some Paris in it, without being able to define what exactly. People say it´s not necessarily a nice place to live because of the slightly arrogant attitude some of its posh residents have, but I love the atmosphere, the lack of heavy traffic and the architecture. I´d probably never get my east-side husband to move in there, but I can dream of it, can´t I?  I found this apartment that has the right frame for a high-end living, the down side is that it costs as much as an entire house elsewhere. It has spacious rooms with lots of light, a killer terrace and a walk-in closet! Good bye clutter! Take a look!

Lovely condo in Grunerløkka, Oslo

Grunerløkka is the hipsters´neighborhood, formerly a working class area, now throbbing with life- restaurants, cafés, shops, you name it. The food hall Mathallen is just nearby, they have Sunday markets in Blå and Birkelunden and you´ll never be alone for the rest of your stay there. If that sounds interesting enough, this apartment is for sale!

Industrial feel apartment

One thing you have to give the Dutch is the know-how. They´re just super cool and I mean it. I was surprised how much I liked Amsterdam. Not only did I like it, they way you do with some cities and then can´t wait to go home, I really enjoyed being there, too. We need to go back soon ´cause it had all the ingredients of a super cool town. Those being said,  If I ever had the possibility to convert an old factory into a family apartment, this is pretty much how I would do it. I hope you´ll find this Amsterdam apartment as charming as I do.

Apartment in Paris

I fell in love with this French apartment at first sight. There´s something about all things French, I´m a sucker for them all! So much refinement and elegance, or maybe it´s this ” joie de vivre” to blame. Take a close look at the stylish simplicity, the materials carefully chosen, the colors. I could move right in, but by tomorrow it´d be cluttered already!

Constant state of planning

I´m terrible at enjoying what I have. This living in the present- art, “carpe diem” and “festina lente”, I wasn´t made for that. I´m a product of the coffee latte generation. Always running, always in a hurry. I make plans years in advance and propel myself hotheadedly into the future. If only I get my MA degree, if only we move into a bigger apartment, if only we get a dog.. Then I´ll be happy. Then things will be perfect. For the moment, they need a boost. Maybe you know the reasoning?

The bad thing about it is that I seldom sit down and just enjoy life as it is. Being a virgo I don´t have time to enjoy things, I´m always in between projects. That does not necessarily mean I´m actually doing anything about those projects, but they hinder me in getting other stuff done.

The good thing about it though is that I´m not static. I´m in a constant need for change and for improvement. And that in itself is not so bad. Or what do you reckon?

Right now I have a two years´ plan: 1. a full apartment make-over, 2. hopefully a new family member and 3. a house with a garden. Since number 2 can´t be planned as such, I pretend it´s not that important anyway and I work long hours to achieve nr 1 and 3. Anyone else feeling me?

So I started gathering and buying things for our house, things that we don´t have place for in our current apartment. You probably think it´s half crazy, my husband will agree, but to me it´s just a quicker way of getting there. I could go on and on about the need to have a Gustavian couch, a rococo mirror and an extensible couch for guests. I will show you some pictures of what dreams are made of instead.

My dream villa
