I’m back from a long weekend in Rome and it was amazing. And it makes me think about all the things that change and how we perceive everything differently with age. My first time in Rome was in 2007 and I didn’t love it. I remember walking around with V and asking each other- “Do we love it now?” and the answer was still no, even after 7 days of wandering around streets lined up with orange trees. I don’t know what it was that didn’t do it for me then- maybe the fact that it was February, the streets still flooding with tourists, maybe the fact that I’d caught a cold, maybe the fact that the city centre was outrageously overpriced and that we didn’t have that much money with us then. Or maybe it was just the expectations.

Hi again! Yesterday we had the very Norwegian “dugnad” – community (somewhat) voluntary work. For the record I can´t stand anything that reminds me of communism, but it was about time I showed up since I had only participated once before in 4 years and people tend to notice. 😉 I took Sam with me and we rolled up our sleeves and did some gardening work in the back yard. We were a handful of people and in less than an hour I was done with my chores, so I could just drink some coffee and eat some soup to warm myself up. Throughout the whole seanse Sam was ecstatic, playing with some party flags, a football, then laying in the pile of leaves and sniffing everybody as soon as they arrived.
Amazing loft in Oslo
Not really what I´m looking for since I prefer a one-storey house, this apartment is nevertheless an architectural pearl! I love the lines, the styling, the light, the boldness of the transparent bathroom and the way they made use of every inch and corner. Not to mention the naked beams and the wooden staircase! Tell me what you think!
