It’s grey, rainy and dark these day, but it’s the last week of November and Christmas is around the corner. And thank God for it! I totally get why people try to escape to warmer places this time of the year and although I was just home for a week in the beginning of October and we’re going to Marrakech just after Christmas, I’d roam the country in a second, if I could.
But let’s get back to the advent for now. I’m in high spirits these days, I’ve already bought one present and I’m thinking of starting decorating soon. I’ve made my famous sugar-coated almonds once and today I’m going to repeat the deed. And I stock up on magazines for new recipes on cookies and chocolate truffles.
Friday we went out for drinks at Himkok with some friends of ours and it felt like ages ago. Himkok made it on the list of the best 50 bars in the world and the drinks are to die for! If you come to Oslo, you should definitely pop by! I had two cocktails, both based on aquavit, since gin is not my thing- Sage aquavit and brown cheese aquavit- and licked my fingers the rest of evening. Unfortunately I was very hungry and I had a bit of a headache, so I couldn’t stay for long.
On Saturday we were invited at a colleague of F’s for borscht and vodka, together with a bunch of other people, many of whom were architects, and it was a fun evening- music, dancing, conversing, cat- petting. I only had a small cap of vodka, spirits are not really my thing, but the soup was heart-warming and I’d bought a Spanish wine that went well with the food.
Yesterday we “licked our sores” and went to the gym in the afternoon. My whole body aches today and I still have lots of accountancy to deal with, so I’d better leave you for now.
PS. Going to NY in spring! ❤
