From being a city girl from my fingers to my toes, in just 6 months, I can’t even imagine my life without a spectacular view anymore. Although it takes a while to get to the city centre and I can no longer walk everywhere, I simply love living here, not to mention Sam, who’s delighted in every sense of the word.
That being said, we’re still looking for a bigger place, it would be nice to have a spare room and throw a party every now and then without feeling that we’re literally sitting on each other’s laps. š But either we can’t really afford whatever is out there or what’s out there is way under our standards.
Aside from that, life’s simply great! That used to scare me before, but now I can enjoy it without anxiety attacks. š Ā I’m starting to understand what people mean when they say “I love my life”, although I never really bond with this type of people – haha! It’s so refreshing to do what you like, though, being able to say stop every once in a while, spending your time with the right person and the right friends, preserving the energy you need to get through the day, giving your doggy some love and cutting yourself some slack, too. In the last 4-5 weeks I worked simply too much and so this week I’m taking 2 days off (in addition to the weekend) in order to send some invoices, dye my hair, groom Sammy, have lunch with a friend and come on top of things again. I reckon I’ll be thanking myself this Friday and hopefully not collapse on the couch like I did last week.
As you can see, it’s been snowing a lot lately and Sammy is in heaven. Although the city is icy and yucky, our neighborhood is white and lovely and the woods sparkle at night, so we can hike without a flashlight. This weekend we went skating (I hadn’t done it in 4-5 years and even then, I was just a new beginner) and it was lots of fun, I can still feel it on my inner thighs, to put it like that. Saturday evening we decided to go out for Italian in the hood, turns out our favorite coffee shop is a restaurant 4 evenings a week and the food is so good! Yay!
Yesterday was all about Sam, reading and napping (for my part) and today I was in court with a person lacking manners and common sense to such an extent I had to go out shopping during lunch break! haha! Good Lord! From now on, every time I feel I’m from another planet, I’ll think of this guy! Haha!
Spaghetti with shrimps, pesto and squash is on the menu today, have to go!
