Yesterday we finally got to check out our cousin and her friend Radu’s coffeshop- Taste Station. It’s located in Maria Rosetti street, a short walk from Magheru and they have the most delicious cannoli, homemade New York cheesecake and banana bread. Not to mention the coffee! Yum! ā¤We had quite some laughs, it’s like that with relatives, either you click and you have the best of times, since you have the same family background to make fun of, or you don’t, because you don’t get to choose your family, you just have them. š haha! But we’re fortunate, me and Alexandra, we always have a blast whenever we meet! ā¤
This holiday is a bit different, since it’s not really a holiday, I just took some days off but I still need to get the work done, so I do a couple of hours in the morning and a couple of hours in the evening, written translations, that is. Also I came for Diana’s birthday and I chose to spend more time with my family and stay at their place. It’s crowded and my brother drives me crazy more often than not, but I’ve missed them and maybe I’ve been a bit too distant lately.Ā
Back to Taste Station, the place is great both to grab some coffee on your way to work or school, or to stay and savor a tiny bit of cake. We stayed for an hour or so, both in the sun- I couldn’t believe my luck with this weather- and inside, since Romanians are not so obsessed with the sun as Scandinavians.Ā
The cortado was a wonder and so was the capuccino, my brother insisted.Ā
Last, but not least, we got to taste their freshly baked chocolate banana bread, it was to die for! I’ll post the recipe in a new entry, but only if Alexandra allows me to! š
Now back to work for a couple of hours! See ya!
xxx, Alina
