Last weekend we went to the mountains at this ski and spa resort. Don’t worry, I still don’t know how to ski and I doubt I’ll be learning very soon, since my significant other couldn’t care less about that activity, either. We did a little bit of the spa bit, though not the completely over the roof overpriced treatments, just the swimming pool, sauna and the jacuzzi: “This is boring!”, someone said about the latter. Haha!
There was some snow, the first one we’d seen this year and it made us pretty excited. We had a hike with all the clothes we’d brought on and still it was a bit too chilly. On Saturday we had a couple of drinks in the library bar and dinner at the restaurant downstairs, dressed for the occasion. 😉 They only served buffet and it seldom tends to be very exciting, but it wasn’t bad, either.
All in all it was very nice to be away from chores and routine and yesterday we found ourselves more energized for a new week. We were so lucky as to be invited over for goulash at Gordana’s who had Sammy boy during the weekend. On our way home, Sammy jumped like a little goat and I walked like Bambi on ice on yet another pair of Acne not fit for this part of the world. (a bit angry with myself, to tell you the truth.)
Today we woke up and it was snowing. Sam was laying in plain sight and was happy to be snowed upon. He still won’t sleep inside and we can’t force him, but my mommy heart makes me wake up at night and check if he’s all right.
After spending ages on coffee and online newspapers, mostly Norwegian, because the Romanian ones are bullshit and NY times has a bit too much politics lately, I took him out on his well-deserved walkie.
There was hardly anybody else outside, no dogs at least, thank Lord for that, ’cause Sam is getting more and more impatient with other males, so he could run all he wanted, dip into the river, chew on sticks and ice, eat snow, you name it!
Now we’re home again- I’m looking out at the white attire the woods have acquired and Sam’s sleeping happily on his door mat on the terrace.
